Ellie Noel

I just realized that I have not blogged about Ellie Noel. I feel like a horrible dog mom to leave her off of the Aune Family Blog. I need to take new pictures of her. Ellie is a Maltipoo. She is three years old and weighs between five and six pounds. She is so much fun. I just love her!

Cheerleading

I have enjoyed my cheerleaders so much this year. I have only had one parent problem and it really was not a big deal. I am going to miss them next year because I know they spoiled me. They made everything easy for me. They all picked up on the material quickly, learned how to be good cheerleaders at the games, and are awesome at stunting for 7th graders. We are getting ready for tryouts for next year so my squad is done for the year. I made all of them journals and gave them a few pictures from a football game. Here is a picture of the journal I made. I think they turned out cute but I was so sick of them after making 24. The first picture is the front. I love the paper I found and I thought it was perfect for teenage girls. The bottom right flower is on a foam square so that it is 3-D...it is hard to tell in the pictures. The second picture is the back.

Valentine's Day

We had a great Valentine's Day. Jason sent me 18 red roses to school. It was a great surprise! I know all of the kids think I am goofy because I could not stop smiling. Our Sunday School class organized a nice dinner at Terilli's, in Frisco. Jason and I have really enjoyed getting to know the couples in our Sunday School class and small group. We are blessed to have great friends in McKinney. I know that we are building friendships that will last us a lifetime.

Soccer Season

As you can see, I have not blogged in over a month. We are in the middle of soccer season and it has already proved to be a crazy year! We should be at a game right now but it was canceled because of the weather. Jason has had a rough start with 6 serious injuries, 1 student waiting on a transfer to clear, and 1 that is extremely sick. All of these guys would be starting, if it was not for their current conditions. We are hoping to have everyone back but one in three more weeks. His team should be awesome if they can get healthy and play smart.

Here is Jason carrying the balls after a 5-0 win. Go Titans!!!

Here is my favorite soccer picture. It is from last year at Pizza Hut Park. Jason is giving a pep talk during half time. The picture was in the Dallas Morning News and they sent it to us.

Bringing in the New Year

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Julie, Jason and Judd New helped Jason and I bring in the New Year. I guess you can say we are getting old since we had no desire to go out. We had plenty to eat and drink at our house, we did not have to get dressed up and it was warm. We played XBOX 360 and the Nintendo Wii. The guys played video games until midnight, but Julie I got bored with it so we watched the count down. We had so much fun! I loved playing with Judd...he is adorable!!

My New Year's resolution is to start taking more pictures. Jason ordered a new camera for us so I think I can make it happen. I used to take pictures of everything but I have been slacking since the honeymoon. Actually, I think all the engagement, wedding and honeymoon pictures did Jason in for a few years. I do have a few pictures and videos from our XBOX 360 and Wii party. They crack me up - check them out!!

Our House

I took pictures of our house today since it is spotless. I love having a clean house!! My favorite thing to do is clean my house and then sit on the couch. I still have all my Christmas decorations up...I guess that is the next project that I need to tackle. It is so much fun to have the house decorated for Christmas.

I can't imagine having kids because I am sure the house is always a mess. It is amazing to see how messy the house can get in one week with just the two of us. Can you imagine three or four? My goal when school starts is to work on the house every night. Before Jason and I were married, I lived in an apartment and it was always clean. I would clean my apartment every night before I went to bed. I need to start that again. I want it to be a habit before we have kids, otherwise it will never happen.

Here is our living room. Look at our beautiful Christmas present...Jason and I got wood floors put in the house. We have wood in the study, dining room and living room. I love it!!

Here is Jason's study. We hung up all of his team pictures. This is the soccer room.

Here is the dining room. I love this room. I have been collecting crosses since I was in high school. The lace curtains are from my grandmother's house...she bought the lace in
Germany. The credenza belonged to my grandfather...it matches the desk in Jason's office. My mom found the table for $250 at an estate sale. It is a Ducan Phyfe, which I had been wanting for years. We recovered the chairs and added a new coat of stain and wax to the table and chairs.

Here is the master bedroom. I love the blues and browns. My favorite part is the brown suede wall with my grandmother's chairs. Jason does not understand why we would need a sitting area in the bedroom but I love it.

Here are our two guest rooms. They are not very exciting. Hopefully, we will need them in the future.

I hope you enjoyed your tour...haha! Jason and I are very proud of our house. We have painted every wall in the house (besides the closets) and all of the ceilings but one. We have changed the light fixtures, put a new sink in the kitchen, added tile in the master bathroom and had the wood floors installed. We still have a long way to go until we think the house it perfect but we still love it with the flaws. Our next project is the kitchen. We eventually want to get new appliances, granite tile on the counter, and a new back splash. We also need to paint the cabinets since they are a light wood and our floors are dark. Other than the kitchen, I want to change all of the brass door handles to oil rubbed bronze. I love updating the house and adding new decorations. It is so much fun!
