Keegan Scott's Room

We are excited to tell you that Keegan Scott's room is done with five weeks to spare. I started working on washing everything last weekend. My goal for this weekend is to finishing washing what we will need in the first few months. Here is a tour around his room.
We hope you like it because we love it!!

Keegan's dresser and changing table
The dresser and mirror were in Jason's room when he was growing up. We sanded it down, painted it brown, painted crackle over the brown, and finished it with a coat of blue paint.
"Play Like A Champion"
Jason wanted to put this quote over the door. We pray that Keegan will play like a champion in all that he does. Of course we hope that he loves sports and excels in them, but we also want him to approach life with an attitude of a champion. We hope this quote will always mean something special to Keegan.
Book Shelf, Toy Chest and Rocking Chair
This picture also gives you a good view of the paint and chair rail.
The toy chest was a great find at Canton.
The rocking chair has been in my father's family for a few generations. I am looking forward to rocking Keegan to sleep and reading him several books in the chair.

Here is an up close view of the shelf. This book shelf was in my dad's room when he was growing up. When my sister was little, he painted it pink and put it in her room. Jason and I painted it brown and added the blue crackle finish. All of the trophies are Jason's old trophies that he received playing soccer when he was growing up. Most of the soccer decorations were given to Jason from my sister and my mom over the past eight years.

The curtain and bouncer. I love how the curtain turned out.

Above the window, we have another great Canton purchase. The sign says, "Children are a gift from God. Psalm 127:3"

Table beside the crib
The table is another great Canton find. We painted it to match the dresser and shelf. Under the table is the start of our book collection. I hope that Keegan loves to read as much as I do.

Keegan's crib
I love how the bedding turned out. My mom did a wonderful job helping me pick out the fabrics and making the bedding. Thank you Gigi!!

"Every good and perfect gift comes from above." James 1:7
Here is an up close view of the scripture over the crib.

We used three different fabrics in the room. The fabrics are an ivory minky dot, brown polka dot, and khaki stripe. The bed skirt is the brown polka dot, the bumpers are khaki stripe on the outside and ivory minky dot on the inside. The quilt is brown polka dot on one side, ivory minky dot on the opposite side, and trimmed with the khaki stripe.

Another view of the crib

You can see Keegan's first soccer ball in this picture.

Up close view of the bedding. You can see the fabric in this picture. My mom surprised us with this pillow. I love how it turned out.
